One of the questions I ask when I am deciding whether or not I have the right to include a certain person in a story on my blog or in my memoir is:
Does the person have a right of reply?
….and then, I started writing this whole post about exactly what I mean by that, but actually, I want to go and watch the footy instead. I will come back and finish it another day. Yes, yes I will.

(as someone who is usually comprehensively ignored)
That any kind of attention would be quite nice. Good or bad. And there is always a right of reply, specially on the internets.
And do they just need right of reply privately, to you, because no one else will know it is them in the book, or do they need to be able to say to others in their life ‘ hold on that’s not how I remember it’ or do they need to be able to take out a billboard and say NOOOOOOO.
I can’t imagine the final one being a problem for you, unlike some people. Hmmm.
you know, I have been thinking about this in a whole new light.
