Isn’t ironical the preferred mispronunciation of most South Aussies? Even in Alanis’s (there’s probably another consonant in there somewhere) song, I’ve heard South Aussies sing ‘Isn’t it ironical?’
I gave up on KG being the things you mentioned about fifteen years ago. His job would be in jeopardy if he adopted the principles which you seek in him.
Who would take his place in appealing to the most common denominator? My money’s on Dwayne Russel, even if he has a history with Port Adelaide.
